The wine made in the USA for excellence is produced in California, if you think that about 85% of U.S. wine comes from this state.

The finest Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc come from minority cooler and windy coastal areas such as coastal and pre Monteroy or North Mendocino, Paso Robles and Santa Barbara in the middle. The California wines are now also increasingly present on our tables. North of San Francisco is the famous Napa Valley.

Other important areas for the production of wine are actually the southern Carneros, especially for sparkling wines.

Inland torrid 90% must be based also on the regional wine grape varieties Grenache, Carignane, Barbera and local Rubired the crossing, or French Colombard and Chenin for the whites.

Further south of San Francisco, about 70-100 km beneath the Bay of Monterey, is the area of San Louis Obispo and Santa Clara, now growing rapidly.
